Meet author Claude Clayton Smith

The next gathering of the Shelton Reading Circle sponsored by the Shetlon Historical Society will be held at Shelton Hitory Center, 70 Ripton Road, on Friday June 7th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.

Author Claude Clayton Smith will discuss will discuss his book, Quarter-Acre of Heartache, and answer questions. This book published in 1985 tells the legal battle faced by the Golden Hill tribe in Trumbull, Connecticut to retain title to the land on which their reservation is based. This reservation comprised of 1/4 of an acrea is considered to be the smallest Native American reservation in the United States and the oldest in Connecticut.

Copeis of this book can be obtained at the Huntington Branch Library by calling 203-926-0111 and placing a reserve. Books can be picked up at the main desk.
